WEEKENDER: EARTH, WIND & FIRE

Tom Brooks | Grace Kevill-Davies | Kinlyside | Sarah Poulgrain

Opening Friday 14 February 2014, 6pm
Exhibition open Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February 12-6pm

Engage your senses this Valentine’s Day. Join us at Boxcopy for the next in our Weekender series, Earth, Wind and Fire featuring time-based works by four 2013 Brisbane visual arts graduates – Tom Brooks, Grace Kevill-Davies, Kinlyside and Sarah Poulgrain.  The works in the exhibition are grounded in ideas of perception and staging experiences of the natural world. These emerging artists construct spaces for contemplation and spark playful reflections on the impermanence of phenomenal experience, through works that exist as ‘long as the wind persists’.

On Saturday 15 February 3pm, join us for afternoon tea and our Weekender slideshow event I ❤ . Brisbane-based video artists Louise Bennett, Anita Holtsclaw, Sarah Oxenham and Kiah Reading will discuss works of art they love and how these works have influenced their current practice.
