RUTH McCONCHIE

STANDARD OIL COMPANY; HE HAS PRICKLES ON HIS FACE

1– 22 September 2012

Opening Event | Saturday 1 September 5-8pm
*Please note the special gallery hours for this exhibition: Wednesday – Saturday 5 – 8pm

In this new object based installation, Ruth McConchie explores the links between personal histories, processual and material obsessions and specificities of site. Her project develops from a fascination with notions of privacy and secrecy in relation to space and examines the sensitivities and nuances of trespass and the illicit. For Standard Oil Company; He has prickles on his face, McConchie re-imagines and modifies the gallery to create a complex dialogue between arrangements of objects, forms and interconnected spaces.
